He highlighted the importance during his speech at the South American Defense Conference.
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Air Force General CQ Brown, Jr., recently spoke about the need for allied military organizations to research and harness artificial intelligence (AI) technologies. Last week, the Pentagon leader gave the opening address at the South American Defense Conference in Santiago, Chile, where technological leverage was the theme of the gathering.
“Every organization is looking at ways to improve their capability with this new technology. It’s not enough to just sprinkle ‘AI dust’ on everything and expect transformation,” General Brown stated. “But by working together, we can share knowledge, experience and solutions [that enable] us to unlock the full potential of this new technology within our network of allies and partners.”
He outlined seven challenges to integrating AI into national security: infrastructure, architecture, data, focus, resourcing, talent, and culture.
“These seven challenges… are challenges we all face,” General Brown said. “But by working together, we can share knowledge, experience and solutions [that enable] us to unlock the full potential of this new technology within our network of allies and partners.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For wisdom for General Brown as he chairs the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
- For U.S. military officials to be prudent as they support the implementation of artificial intelligence into national security and the armed forces.
